Early in his career, Ty Smith of Facilitating Change realized that he has a talent and passion for facilitating individual and organizational growth and learning with a focus on fostering a culture of belonging and equitable inclusion. He is a skilled speaker, trainer, facilitator, and senior leader who excels at facilitating small and large groups of all organizational levels.

For more than 20 years, grounded in an integrated anti-oppression approach, Ty has worked with boards in producing policies, strategic plans, and alliances. He has worked with management in the development of inclusion strategies, program plans, designing performance management processes, staff training and development, stakeholder consultation, and program evaluation.

Ty is known for fostering a safe learning environment, making learning interactive and actionable, and facilitating the development of practical solutions. Ty’s skill sets, insights, and resources are firmly grounded in a belief in the right for all people to live, work and learn in a safe and inclusive environment. He holds a B.A. in Sociology from the University of Toronto and is currently completing an MEd in Adult Education and Community Development at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education, University of Toronto.
